Discover Wisconsin is the nation's longest running tourism TV show in the U.S. The program is written, directed and produced in Madison, Wisconsin. Created in 1986 by Dick Rose and premiering in 1987, (Discover Wisconsin ) highlights Wisconsin's popular and lesser-known tourist attractions. Discover Wisconsin TV (DW-TV) was the ultimate product, becoming the first public-private partnership under then-governor Tommy Thompson. It is broadcast to more than 480,000 viewers throughout the Midwest on a combination of network, cable, and satellite stations. Additionally, through the advent of satellite broadcasting, DW-TV is regularly viewed on cable stations all around the United States.
